Journal of Medical Screening is concerned with all aspects of medical screening, particularly the publication of research that advances screening theory and practice. The journal aims to increase awareness of the principles of screening (quantitative and statistical aspects), screening techniques and procedures and methodologies from all specialties. An essential subscription for physicians, clinicians and academics with an interest in screening, epidemiology and public health.

The Journal of Medical Systems provides a forum for the presentation and discussion of the increasingly extensive applications of new systems techniques and methods in hospital, clinic, and physician's office administration; pathology, radiology, and pharmaceutical delivery systems; medical records storage and retrieval; and ancillary patient-support systems. The journal publishes informative articles, essays, and studies across the entire spectrum of medical systems, from large hospital programs to novel small-scale medical services. Education is an integral part of this amalgamation of sciences, and selected articles are published in this area. Since existing medical systems are constantly being modified to fit particular circumstances and to solve specific problems, the journal includes a special section devoted to status reports on current installations.

The Journal of Medical Ultrasonics provides a forum for the publication of papers documenting recent advances and new developments across the field of ultrasound in medicine and biology, encompassing both the medical and the engineering aspects of the science. The journal presents original articles, review articles, case reports, educational articles, short communications, short technical reports, and letters to the editor. The journal also provides state-of-the-art information such as announcements from society boards and committees. The Journal of Medical Ultrasonics is the official journal of the Japan Society of Ultrasonics in Medicine.

The Journal of Medical Ultrasound is the peer-reviewed publication of the Asian Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology, and the Chinese Taipei Society of Ultrasound in Medicine. Its aim is to promote clinical and scientific research in ultrasonography, and to serve as a channel of communication among sonologists, sonographers, and medical ultrasound physicians in the Asia-Pacific region and wider international community. The Journal invites original contributions relating to the clinical and laboratory investigations and applications of ultrasonography.The Journal of Medical Ultrasound is currently indexed/abstracted in: EMBASE, SCOPUS, and SIIC Data Bases.The journal is published by Elsevier on behalf of the Asian Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (AFSUMB) and the Chinese Taipei Society of Ultrasound in Medicine (CTSUM).

Journal of Medical Virology provides a means of rapid publication of original scientific papers on fundamental as well as applied research concerning viruses affecting humans. These include reports describing the characterization, diagnosis, epidemiology, immunology and pathogenesis of human virus infections, as well as basic studies on virus morphology, genetics, replication and host-cell interactions.

The purpose of Journal of Medical and Biological Engineering, JMBE, is committed to encouraging and providing the standard of biomedical engineering. The journal is devoted to publishing papers related to clinical engineering, biomedical signals, medical imaging, bio-informatics, tissue engineering, and so on. Other than the above articles, any contributions regarding hot issues and technological developments that help reach the purpose are also included.

Journal of Medicinal Chemistry publishes studies that contribute to an understanding of the relationship between molecular structure and biological activity or mode of action.

Some specific areas that are appropriate include the following:

• Design, synthesis, and biological evaluation of novel biologically active compounds, diagnostic agents, or labeled ligands employed as pharmacological tools.
• Molecular modifications of reported series that lead to a significantly improved understanding of their structure-activity relationships (SAR). Routine extensions of existing series that do not utilize novel chemical or biological approaches or do not add significantly to a basic understanding of the SAR of the series will normally not be accepted for publication.
• Structural biological studies (X-ray, NMR, etc.) of relevant ligands and targets with the aim of investigating molecular recognition processes in the action of biologically active compounds.
• Molecular biological studies (e.g., site-directed mutagenesis) of macromolecular targets that lead to an improved understanding of molecular recognition.
• Computational studies that provide fresh insight into the SAR of compound series that are of current general interest or analysis of other available data that subsequently advance medicinal chemistry knowledge.
• Substantially novel computational chemistry methods with demonstrated value for the identification, optimization, or target interaction analysis of bioactive molecules.
• Effect of molecular structure on the distribution, pharmacokinetics, and metabolic transformation of biologically active compounds. This may include design, synthesis, and evaluation of novel types of prodrugs.
• Novel methodology with broad application to medicinal chemistry, but only if the methods have been tested on relevant molecules.

Journal of Medicinal Food (J Med Food) provides the latest scientific research on the bioactive substances of functional and medicinal foods, nutraceuticals, herbal substances, and other natural products. The Journal explores the chemistry and biochemistry of these substances, as well as the methods for their extraction and analysis, the use of biomarkers and other methods to assay their biological roles, and the development of bioactive substances for use in the marketplace. International in its scope, the Journal brings perspectives from Korea, India, China, Japan, Russia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Latin America, Canada, the U.S., and other countries involved in the development of foods, nutraceuticals and other natural substances for the prevention and management of diseases and disorders.

The Journal of Mental Health Research in Intellectual Disabilities, the official research journal of NADD, is an interdisciplinary research journal with the purpose of reporting original scientific and scholarly contributions to advance knowledge about mental health issues among persons with intellectual disabilities. The journal will address issues related to the full range of psychopathology among persons with intellectual disabilities (mental retardation), neuro-developmental disorders and autism spectrum disorders, including severe behavior problems, criminality, substance abuse, and genetic phenotypes across the life span. The journal seeks to publish contributions with an emphasis on empirically based research and will include research on characteristics of persons with intellectual and mental health problems; risk and protective factors related to the development and/or prevention of mental health problems in persons with intellectual disabilities; development of screening and diagnostic instruments; effectiveness of behavioral, psychosocial and pharmacological treatment procedures (including group and single subject designs); critical or comparative literature reviews, including quantitative meta-analyses. Occasional conceptual reviews that provide for new understanding of theory or theoretical constructs will also be considered. Peer Review Policy: All research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymous refereeing by at least two anonymous referees.
