The Journal of Intelligent and Robotic Systems bridges the gap between theory and practice in all areas of intelligent systems and robotics. It publishes original, peer reviewed contributions from initial concept and theory to prototyping to final product development and commercialization. On the theoretical side, the journal features papers focusing on intelligent systems engineering, distributed intelligence systems, multi-level systems, intelligent control, multi-robot systems, cooperation and coordination of unmanned vehicle systems, etc. On the application side, the journal emphasizes autonomous systems, industrial robotic systems, multi-robot systems, aerial vehicles, mobile robot platforms, underwater robots, sensors, sensor-fusion, and sensor-based control. Readers will also find papers on real applications of intelligent and robotic systems (e.g., mechatronics, manufacturing, biomedical, underwater, humanoid, mobile/legged robot and space applications, etc.).

The Journal of Intelligent Information Systems: Integrating Artificial Intelligence and Database Technologies (JIIS) focuses on the integration of artificial intelligence and database technologies to create next generation information systems - Intelligent Information Systems.JIIS provides a forum wherein academics, researchers and practitioners may publish high-quality, original and state-of-the-art papers describing theoretical aspects, systems architectures, analysis and design tools and techniques, and implementation experiences in intelligent information systems. Articles published in JIIS include: research papers, invited papers, meeting, workshop and conference announcements and reports, survey and tutorial articles, and book reviews. Published bimonthly, the Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing provides a unique international forum for developers of intelligent manufacturing systems. By publishing quality refereed papers on the application of artificial intelligence in manufacturing, the Journal provides a vital link between the research community and practitioners in industry.In addition to research papers, the Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing features articles on new methodologies and developments, case studies, surveys, and tutorials on topics related to product design, manufacturing, and service systems. The Journal of Intelligent Materials Systems and Structures (JIMSS), EIC: Dan Inman, is an international peer reviewed journal that publishes the highest quality original research. JIMSS reports on the results of experimental or theoretical work on any aspect of intelligent materials systems and/or structures research also called smart structure, smart materials, active materials, adaptive structures and adaptive materials.

The Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems is devoted to scholarly research on the development, planning, management, operation and evaluation of intelligent transportation systems. Intelligent transportation systems are innovative solutions that address contemporary transportation problems. They are characterized by information, dynamic feedback and automation that allow people and goods to move efficiently. They encompass the full scope of information technologies used in transportation, including control, computation and communication, as well as the algorithms, databases, models and human interfaces. The emergence of these technologies as a new pathway for transportation is relatively new. The Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems is especially interested in research that leads to improved planning and operation of the transportation system through the application of new technologies. The journal is particularly interested in research that adds to the scientific understanding of the impacts that intelligent transportation systems can have on accessibility, congestion, pollution, safety, security, noise, and energy and resource consumption. The journal is inter-disciplinary, and accepts work from fields of engineering, economics, planning, policy, business and management, as well as any other disciplines that contribute to the scientific understanding of intelligent transportation systems. The journal is also multi-modal, and accepts work on intelligent transportation for all forms of ground, air and water transportation. Example topics include the role of information systems in transportation, traffic flow and control, vehicle control, routing and scheduling, traveler response to dynamic information, planning for ITS innovations, evaluations of ITS field operational tests, ITS deployment experiences, automated highway systems, vehicle control systems, diffusion of ITS, and tools/software for analysis of ITS. All articles appearing in the Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems undergo a rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and at least two anonymous peer reviewers providing comments.
