Quaternary Geochronology is an international journal devoted to the publication of the highest-quality, peer-reviewed articles on all aspects of dating methods applicable to the Quaternary Period - the last 2.6 million years of Earth history. Reliable ages are fundamental to place changes in climates, landscapes, flora and fauna - including the evolution and ecological impact of humans - in their correct temporal sequence, and to understand the tempo and mode of geological and biological processes. There is growing scientific appreciation of the complexity of the Quaternary Period. This has increased the demand on geochronological techniques to deliver increasingly more accurate and precise ages, which underpin attempts to determine the causes and consequences of events at a variety of temporal and spatial scales. Some Quaternary dating methods are well established, while others are in the early stages of development. Quaternary Geochronology will provide a readily accessible platform to rapidly communicate the latest developments and applications in these emerging fields, as well as improvements made to more traditional methods of age determination. New technological capabilities are providing a greater understanding of the underlying principles of age estimation and are stimulating innovative applications. Quaternary Geochronology will report the latest insights and discoveries to an inter-disciplinary audience concerned with events in the Quaternary Period.Quaternary Geochronology will publish research in the following areas:• Principles of geochronological methods• Advances in methodology, analytical procedures and instrumentation• Methodological standardisations and inter-laboratory comparisons• Calibrations and comparisons of different methods• Novel and groundbreaking applications in all fields of Quaternary researchWe particularly encourage the submission of: • Systematic and comprehensive studies in pure and applied contexts• Integrated and inter-disciplinary applications of geochronological data• Provocative and topical papers of immediate interest to a wide audienceThe following contributions will be accepted:• Original research papers and case studies• Review papers• Special thematic issues• Viewpoint articles• Letters to the Editors (including comments on papers published in Quaternary Geochronology)• Book reviews
Quaternary International is the official journal of the International Union for Quaternary Research. The objectives are to publish a high quality scientific journal under the auspices of the premier Quaternary association that reflects the interdisciplinary nature of INQUA and records recent advances in Quaternary science that appeal to a wide audience. This series will encompass all the full spectrum of the physical and natural sciences that are commonly employed in solving Quaternary problems. The policy is to publish peer refereed collected research papers from symposia, workshops and meetings sponsored by INQUA. In addition, other organizations may request publication of their collected works pertaining to the Quaternary.Potential Guest Editors who are interested in proposing a Thematic volume are kindly requested to contact the Editor-in-Chief, Professor Norm Catto, directly at the e-mail address ncatto@mun.ca.Guest Editors will be appointed for each volume. For more information about INQUA see http://www.inqua.tcd.ie
Quaternary Science Reviews caters for all aspects of Quaternary science, and includes, for example, geology, geomorphology, geography, archaeology, soil science, palaeobotany, palaeontology, palaeoclimatology and the full range of applicable dating methods. The dividing line between what constitutes the review paper and one which contains new original data is not easy to establish, so QSR also publishes papers with new data especially if these perform a review function. All the Quaternary sciences are changing rapidly and subject to re-evaluation as the pace of discovery quickens; thus the eclectic and comprehensive role of Quaternary Science Reviews keeps readers abreast of the wider issues relating to new developments in the field. Quaternary Science Reviews includes Special Issues on topical subjects arising from recent scientific meetings, in response to significant chances in Quaternary subject matter, or to acknowledge the achievements of some outstanding Quaternary Scientist.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Intellectual property law attracts diverse international attention and warrants considered scholarship and analysis. Not only is this an area of detailed practice and study, but also a significant part of each citizen's daily life. From the question of access to products to concerns for the creative and innovative process, this area of law is of considerable interest to scholars and the general public alike. Modern intellectual property practice and scholarship is necessarily interdisciplinary, intersecting not only with other areas of law, but also with cultural and socio-economic approaches to knowledge. Contemporary research considers the operation of intellectual property in the context of human rights, social, political and economic spheres. Engaging the diversity of perspectives on these important issues is essential to comprehensive debate, and it is this richness of debate and interrogation to which QMJIP seeks to participate, by publishing high quality contributions to the field.
As an extension of the Queen Mary Intellectual Property Research Institute's reputation as one of the foremost centres for intellectual property research and education, QMJIP has become an important forum for quality scholarship in this field, publishing full-length articles as well as analysis pieces and case reports, on a quarterly basis.
